Fiesta del Sol

Pilsen's Fiesta del Sol, the largest Latino culture festival in the Midwest, runs July 30 to Aug. 2 on Cermak Roadd from Morgan to Loomis. The festival features live music on two stages, an arts and culture pavilion, kids' area, a soccer tournament, food vendors, carnival rides and more. Admission is free; buy a "megapass" for unlimited carnival rides. The festival runs from 11am to 10pm today.

More Clowns in Cemetery @ Woodlawn Cemetery

As International Clown Week approaches, Chicagoland has it covered. Come celebrate the 16th anniversary of clown week at Showmen's Rest burial site in Woodlawn Cemetery, located at 7750 Cermak Avenue in Forest park. It is the resting place of many clowns and circus performers since the Hammond train wreck that claimed their lives in 1918. For several years, clowns and circus folk have been gathering there to honor their graves, and simultaneously put on a classic clown heavy circus event, complete with juggling, acrobatics, clowning and magic as well as free food and games for all. The event starts Sunday August 2nd from 1 to 3pm.

Alan Lerner Opening @ Rev. Billy's Chop Shop

Rev. Billy's Chop Shop, 4314 N. Lincoln Ave., hosts an opening reception tonight from 5 to 10pm for an exhibition of new prints and collages by artist Alan Lerner. Details on Facebook.

Hood Internet @ Beauty Bar

The Hood Internet do a rare small club show tonight at Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave. Lani Love and Mr. West also spin. There are also $1 beer specials and free pizza. Doors open at 7pm. No cover with RSVP on Do312. 21+

Get Off the Couch @ Hideout

Get Off the Couch is back at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight at 7pm. This month, the lineup features headliners Michael McDermott and Heather Horton, along with David Hayes, Ashleigh Ashton, and Chaz Hearne. Each artist will perform four songs apiece in two rounds, followed by a featured set by McDermott and Horton. Sam Wahl hosts. Tickets are $10. 21+

Here, Chicago @ Theater Wit

Here, Chicago potluck and storytelling show returns to Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave., tonight. at 7:30pm. The show begins with potluck dinner at 7:30pm, followed by stories at 8pm from Landmarks Illinois President Bonnie McDonald, Second City company Member John Thibodeaux, AIDS Foundation Manager Matthew Williamson, and college sophomore and storytelling phenom Xavier Jordan -- plus five open-mic slots. Hosted by Janna Sobel and Nnamdi Ngwe. Tickets are $8, or free with prepared potluck dish.

MasHterpiece Theater @ Under the Gun Theater

Enjoy a MASHterpiece tonight with the help of Under the Gun Theater. The revelry begins at 7:30 pm tonight, in which this game show style performance featuring six actors and a host creates kooky challenges while performing classic TV, film, and theater scenes. Tickets to the performance at $12. Under the Gun Theater is located at 956 W Newport on the 2nd Floor.

Entertaining Julia @ Empty Bottle

The Puterbaugh Sisters bring their Entertaining Julia comedy show to the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., every Sunday in August. This week's lineup includes Steven King, Thom Brady, Reena Calm, Tommy Mac and Stephanie Hasz, as well as music by Al Scorch and resident DJ Constance K. Tickets are just $5.
