Air & Water Show

Get ready for your pets to go nuts: the Chicago Air & Water Show is today and Sunday, centered on North Avenue Beach, 1600 N. Lake Shore Dr. The show will feature the Blue Angels, Golden Knights and Leap Frogs parachute teams, the Breitling Jet Team and more, from 10am to 3pm both days. Admission is free.

Madelaine Bullwinkel @ Read It & Eat

The Alliance Francaise chef guides participants through making dishes from April Bullwinkel's newest book A Girl and Her Greens today at Read It & Eat, 2142 N. Halsted St., 10am-1pm. Tickets $80.

Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival

The Glenwood Avenue Arts Festival runs Aug. 14-16 on Glenwood and Morse Avenues. Check out art and crafts by more than 100 artists, plus visit open studios and enjoy live music and performances on three stages. Print the handy festival map and go. The festival runs from 11am to 9pm today.

Festa Italiana

Festa Italiana runs Aug. 13-16 on Taylor Street between Ashland and Racine. Enjoy Italian food from local restaurants, shop for arts and crafts, and enjoy live music on three stages. $5 suggested donation. The festival runs from noon to 11pm today.

Chicago Nerd Comedy Festival @ Stage 773

Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., hosts the Chicago Nerds Comedy Festival, featuring various players in the nerd comedy scene, Aug. 13-16. The festival features a range of sketch comedy, stand-up, improv and funny plays; see the schedule for details. Tonight's shows begin at 5pm. Tickets are $15 per show, or get a festival pass for $65. Attend in costume and get $5 your ticket.

Ma(s)king Her Performance and Screening @ Reva and David Logan Center

The Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, in conjunction with Arts + Public Life and Center for the Study of Race, Politics & Culture, will be hosting an event tonight entitled, "Ma(s)king Her" from 7-10pm. The event includes the Honey Pot Performance and a special screening of "Futurewoman". Free and open to the public. The Logan Center is located at 915 E. 60th St.

You're Being Ridiculous @ Mary's Attic

You're Being Ridiculous, the sassy, funny and fun storytelling show created by Jeremy Owens, returns to Mary's Attic. With three shows this month, there's sure to be a date that matches your calendar. Come out tonight to hear funny & touching stories on the theme "Rites of Passage" from Eileen Dougharty, Drew Durfee, Marina Murphy, Karen O'Donnell, Jeremy Owens, Jason Smith, Eileen Tull and Gina Watters. Doors open at 7:00pm and stories start at 7:30pm at Mary's Attic, 5400 North Clark. Tickets are $15 online.

MCA Day @ Lincoln Hall

MCA Day, a celebration of the life and work of Adam "MCA" Yauch, hits Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., tonight with a stellar lineup, featuring She's Crafty, Bumpus, Akasha, Shellenbach, DJ Intel, DJRC, DJ LA*Jesus, DJ ENRG and more. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Adam Yauch Foundation and Brandon C. Gromada Head & Neck Cancer Foundation. Doors open at 7:30pm. 21+

Dance For Life Chicago @ Auditorium Theater

Chicago's top dance companies will come together tonight in a performance to benefit Dance for Life, an event held each year to support organizations and dance community professionals managing critical health issues, including HIV/AIDS. The companies participating in the event include: Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, the Joffrey Ballet, Giordano Dance Chicago, River North Dance Chicago, C5, the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, and Same Planet Different World Dance Theater. The funds raised through the event will benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and The Dancer's Fund. The performance will be held at the Auditorium Theatre, located at 50 E. Congress. Tickets for the performance range from $15-$75.

There will also be a gala reception held prior to the performance at 5pm at the Hilton Chicago, located at 720 S. Michigan. Admission to the gala ranges from $250-$600, and includes prime seating at the performance.

Chicago Summer Psych Fest @ Hideout
