Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts runs Sept. 11-13 along Broadway from Stratford to Belmont. The festival this year includes live music on two stages, a cooking demo stage, children's activity area, and more than 150 artists and artisans selling their work. The festival runs from 10am to 10pm today.

German-American Fest

The 95th annual German-American Fest takes over Lincoln Square this weekend, Sept. 11-13, on Lincoln Avenue from Western to Eastwood. Enjoy beer and wine, giant pretzels, German music and dancing. It's open from noon to 10pm today. Admission is free.

Andersonville City Made Fest

City Made Fest, the "only" all-local street festival that features only Chicago beer, music and products, begins today at noon and goes until 7pm. The fest will have live entertainment, work from Chicago artists, a "Made in Chicago" marketplace, and delicious chi-town grub. The fest will be located along Clark Street from Argyle to Carmen. The suggested gate donation is $5.

Chicago Fringe Festival

The Chicago Fringe Festival runs Sept. 3-13 in five venues throughout the Jefferson Park neighborhood. Pick up a festival button (required for all shows) for $5 online or at Fischman's Liquors, 4780 N. Milwaukee Ave., then take your pick of the many performances of experimental theater, performance art, sketch comedy, dance and more -- see the schedule for daily details. Tickets to performances are $10, with multi-show tickets available. Shows start at 1pm today.

Slow Food Chicago's Annual Farm Roast @ Local Foods

Enjoy the summer's bounty at this afternoon's Annual Farm Roast, which kicks off at 1pm at Local Foods (1427 W. Willow). Local chefs (from Nico Osteria, Butcher and Larder, Vie and more) make dishes using the Slow Food Ark of Taste while you sample their wares. Beer and cocktails will be supplied by Billy Sunday, Pipeworks and more. Tickets start at $57.

"Warm Kitty, Soft Kitty" Opening Reception @ The Hyde Park Art Center

The Hyde Park Art Center is presenting their newest group exhibition, "Warm Kitty, Soft Kitty" today from 3-5pm. The HPAC is located at 5020 S. Cornell Avenue.

Hannibal Buress @ 1st Ward

1st Ward at Chop Shop, 2033 W. North Ave., presents Hannibal Buress live tonight at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30, and tickets are $25. 21+

That's All She Wrote @ Great Lakes Tattoo

The monthly live lit series That's All She Wrote is back at Great Lakes Tattoo, 1148 W. Grand Ave for another show. This month's lineup includes: Tim Barnes, Parker Stockman, erin dreisbach, Lori Barrett, and Kim Nelson. Co-hosted by J.H. Palmer and Angela Benander. Doors open at 7:30, stories begin at 8pm.
