Ibeyi @ Thalia Hall

The soulful twins behind Ibeyi have returned to the U.S. for a second tour this year, and they will perform their downtempo tunes at Thalia Hall. Thomas Kelley Lecture @ The Charnley-Persky House

This evening MAS Context presents Thomas Kelley of the architecture collaborative Norman Kelley. Kelley will be discussing the group's current work as as part of MAS Context's 2015 Fall Talks series. The lecture will take place at the historic Charnley-Persky House, the headquarters of the Society of Architectural Historians. Doors open at 6pm, with the lecture following at 6:30pm. The Plucky Rosenthal Show at Uptown Underground

Slate Culture Gabfest Live @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., hosts a live taping of the Slate Culture Gabfest this evening at 7:30pm. Co-hosts Stephen Metcalf, Julia Turner and Dana Stevens discuss the topics of the day, followed by a live Q&A session with the audience. Tickets are $25 and doors open at 7pm -- or pay $50 and attend a cocktail hour with the hosts at 6pm.

Reeling Film Festival

The 33rd annual Reeling Film Festival runs Sept. 17-24 at multiple venues throughout the city. See the schedule for full details. First screenings are at 7pm tonight.

Years and Years @ Park West

The winners of BBC's Sound of 2015 Poll, British electro-pop outfit Years and Years will lift your heart with sparkly dance music that combines Disclosure's sonic aesthetic with frontman Olly Alexander's Timberlake-esque vocals. This is their first full North American tour and given the speed with which Y&Y has ascended to the top of England's charts, now is the time to jump on the bandwagon. Tei Shui opens. Doors at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., are at 6:30 pm and the show starts at 7:30 pm -- it's officially sold out, but tickets are available through Stubhub and other resale vendors.

Rev. Horton Heat @ Metro

Reverend Horton Heat headlines the Metro, 3730 N. Clark St., tonight, with The Adicts and Creepshow. Tickets are $25. Doors open at 8pm. 18+

OBN IIIs @ Empty Bottle

OBN IIIs are a roaring garage rock outfit with chugging riffs, manic vocals and plenty of attitude. They can simultaneously annoy and awe audiences, all while going 100% and never letting up.
