The Northwest Chicago Film Society has moved to the Auditorium at Northeastern Illinois University, Building E, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., and tonight's film is Out of the Blue, directed by and starring Dennis Hopper. The film is at 7pm. Ticket's are $5.
Miss Spoken returns to Gallery Cabaret, 2020 N. Oakley Ave., tonight at 7pm. The theme this month is "Mean Girls," and the readers include Molly Harris, Julie Jurgens, Mary Runkle and Ines Bellina. Hosted by Rosamund Lannin and Carly Oishi. $5 suggested donation, with all proceeds going to the readers. 21+
The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave., hosts screenings of the highly anticipated Attack on Titan films over the next few weeks. Tonight's screening of Part 1 will be followed on Oct. 20 with a screening of Part 2. Tickets are $10. Full details and advance tickets available at the Music Box site.
The exhibition, Expressionist Impulses, opens tonight at the Smart Museum from 7-9pm. The show will focus on German and Central European art between 1890 and 1990 with approximately 80 paintings, sculptures, and drawings. The museum is located at 5550 S. Greenwood Avenue.
