Fall Fest: Harvest Hopdown @ The Plaza

Come for the 3rd Annual Harvest Hopdown where local brewers compete for the 2015 title! For $40 a ticket, The Plaza at Millennium Park at 11 N. Andersonville Arts Weekend

The 13th annual Andersonville Arts Weekend runs Oct. 9-11 throughout the neighborhood, showcasing the work of local artists and designers. The event kicks off tonight at 6pm with Night of 100 pARTies, featuring opening receptions at dozens of local businesses and galleries. Free.

Chicago Arts District Open House

The Chicago Arts District hosts its 45th annual Open House tonight and Saturday. Pick up a map at 1821 S. Halsted St. and go on a self-guided tour of more than 30 artist studios and galleries. The open house runs from 6 to 10pm tonight. Free.

Lumpen Release Party @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

Lumpen celebrates the release of its special comics issue tonight at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., from 7 to 11pm. Pick up a copy of the magazine, see comics art from the issue and enjoy music by Wet Wallet and Oscillator Bug. Free.

Jarrett Neal @ Women & Children First

Kevin Drumm (replaces Florian Hecker) for FREE concert @ Chicago Cultural Center

Due to travel issues and personal reasons, Florian Hecker's performance tonight at the Chicago Cultural Center's Preston Bradley Hall (78 E. Washington) had to be cancelled. In its place, Lampo is proud to present Chicago experimental composer and performer Kevin Drumm, with a new multiple-speaker performance called Narrow Territory. Despite calling Chicago home, this is Drumm's first live performance in town in nine years, following from a brilliant and blistering performance opening for Macronympha in 2006 at the Empty Bottle. If you want to hear an immense 18-speaker drone composition while looking at the wonder of the Cultural Center's Tiffany dome, this may be your only chance. FREE concert, RSVP here, 8 p.m.

Mama @ Hideout

Power-pop rockers Mama celebrate the release of their latest 7-inch, and openers Mooner also celebrate the release of their new record, tonight at the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave. Indonesian Junk, Bobby Conn and Monica Boubou, and the Hozac DJs also perform. Tickets are $7. Doors open at 8pm. 21+

Jimmy Osbourne @ Double Door

Reggae legend Jimmy Osbourne performs live backed by Akasha at Double Door, 1551 N. Damen Ave., tonight as part of the new Simmer Down Select concert series. The Simmer Down DJs, DJ Ringo, DJ Papa G, and the Jamaican Oldies Productions DJs open. Tickets are $15 in advance, 20 at the door, which opens at 9pm. 21+
