Curbside Splendor Publishing @ Poetry Foundation

Tonight at the Poetry Foundation, 61 W. Superior St., Curbside Splendor authors Erika T. Wurth, W. Todd Kaneko, and Dasha Kelly read from their works. The program will be introduced by Curbside Splendor's publishing senior editor, Jacob S. Knabb. This event is free.

Illusion Travels by Streetcar @ Northeastern Illinois

The Northwest Chicago Film Society has moved to the Auditorium at Northeastern Illinois University, Building E, 3701 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., and tonight's film is Illusion Travels by Streetcar, directed by Luis Buñuel. The film is at 7pm, and will be introduced by Paul A Schroeder Rodriguez, professor of Spanish at NEIU. Ticket's are $5.

Sappho's Salon @ Women & Children First

Eileen Tull & Liz Baudler co-curate and host this monthly performance salon at Women & Children First Bookstore (5233 N. Clark), featuring expressions of queerness, gender and feminism. Tonight's show features musical duo Paper Crane Rain and performance artist Katherine Chronis and an open mic. Doors open at 7pm and admission is $7 to $10 which benefits the performers and the Women's Voices Fund. BYOB

This Much Is True @ Mrs. Murphy's & Sons

Celebrate seven years of storytelling at This Much is True, featuring stories by Debra Ehrhardt, Stephanie Douglass, Diane Kastiel, Todd Kiech, Kohl Miner, Carol Ramsey, and Scott Whitehair. Doors open at 6:45pm, stories at 7:30 at Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro, 3905 N. Lincoln Ave. Free.
