Chicago International Map Fair

The International Map Fair runs Oct. 23-25 at the Loyola University Museum of Art (LUMA), 820 N. Michigan Ave., from 10am to 5pm. Browse vintage and modern maps, globes, atlases, prints and more. Weekend passes are $5 in advance, $10 at the door.

Third Coast Filmless Festival

The Third Coast Filmless Festival runs Oct. 23-25 at ChiArts, 2714 W. Augusta Blvd. Today's programming begins at 10:30am and includes audio screenings and workshops till 4:45pm. See the full schedule for details. Weekend passes have sold out, but limited tickets to individual events range from $12 to $20 and may be available at the door.

Beat Swap Meet Chicago @ Empty Bottle

The Empty Bottle hosts the latest Beat Swap Meet Chicago today starting at noon. Come and look through the stock of vinyl collectors and dealers from far and near! Admission is $5, or free with a canned good. Empty Bottle: 1035 N. Western. (773) 276-3600.

Central Manufacturing District Walking Tour

Join Preservation Chicago for a walking tour of Bridgeport's Central Manufacturing District (CMD). The $10 tour will visit some of the CMD's intact industrial landmarks, discuss current and future threats to the district, and look at some exciting examples of re-use in the area. The tour runs from 1 to 3pm. More details and tickets are available via the Chicago Architectural Biennial or Facebook.

Andersonville Dessert Crawl

The Andersonville Dessert Crawl runs from 2 to 5pm today! Buy your tickets ($25 in advance, $30 day-of), pick up your passport at the Swedish-American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St., and graze your way up and down Clark Street, enjoying sweet treats on one of two routes.

Tele-novela HIGHLIGHTS Watching Party @ Mana Contemporary

From 2 to 4pm today, a screening of Tele-novela HIGHLIGHTS Watching Party will be held in the UIC space at Mana Contemporary, 2233 S. Throop St., 5th floor. The series will include some work from the ACRE TV program. Free.

Jenny Lawson @ Ebenezer Lutheran Church

Women & Children First Bookstore hosts a reading and book signing with Jenny Lawson at Ebenezer Lutheran Church (1650 W. Foster) for her new book Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things. Doors open at 3:30 pm and the reading begins at 4:00 pm. This is a free event, but the first 100 attendees to purchase Furiously Happy from Women & Children First will receive priority seating and will be the first in line to get their books signed.


Featherproof Fall Release Party @ Rainbo Club

Featherproof Books throws a release party tonight at 7:30pm at Rainbo Club, 1150 N. Damen Ave., for its fall lineup releases, See You In the Morning by Mairead Case and the poetry collection Erratic Fire, Erratic Passion by Pasha Malla and Jeff Parker. No cover, 21+
