Vintage Garage Holiday Show
Vintage Garage hosts a holiday market today from 10am to 4pm at 5051 N. Broadway. Shop for vintage holiday decor along with the usual mix of antiques, collectibles, fashion and accessories. $5 admission at the door.
Creature from the Black Lagoon @ Music Box
The Music Box Theatre hosts a screening of The Creature from the Black Lagoon today at noon, along with a discussion of the film by Paul Mayer from the Field Museum. Glassware Garage Sale @ Hopleaf
Hopleaf, 5148 N. Clark St., hosts a Glassware Garage Sale today to clear the shelves of glasses for beers they no longer carry, that don't exist anymore, that have changed logos or have otherwise changed. Some breweriana (beer signs and promo items) will also be available. The sale begins at noon, and proceeds benefit longtime Hopleaf bartender Chris "Pitt" Pittatsis, who is recovering from a brutal attack that left him in very bad shape (you can donate directly to his medical fund here.) No cover, but you must be 21.

Speed Rack, the all-female speed-bartending competition that raises money for breast cancer, is back at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport Ave., today at 4pm. Watch bartenders compete for the title of Miss Speed Rack Chicago, and enjoy some drinks yourself. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door. 21+

The Toadies are currently doing an acoustic tour, and they stop tonight at the Double Door, 1551 N. Damen Ave., for a show with In the Whale and AM Taxi. Tickets are $30, doors open at 7:30pm. 21+
