Chicago Art Girls Holiday Pop Up Shop

The Chicago Art Girls are hosting their annual holiday pop up shop at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary School (3730 N. Oakley Avenue) today from 11am to 5pm. More than 40 of the city's best artists and artisans will be selling a variety of items perfect for gift giving to others, or yourselves. They're also collecting donations for Common Pantry and hosting a raffle to give proceeds to them.

Home Alone @ CSO

The CSO presents a 25th anniversary screening of Home Alone with live orchestra accompaniment Dec. 11-13 in Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. Today's performance is at 3pm. Tickets are $55 to $125, and are nearly gone. Purchase online or through the box office at 312-294-3000.

St. Lucia Festival of Lights

The annual St. Lucia Festival of Lights travels through Andersonville tonight, beginning at 4:45pm at the Swedish American Museum, 5211 N. Clark St. The procession will return to the museum, where a retelling of the St. Lucia story and other entertainment will follow. Admission is $1.

Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas live @ Hideout

The Hideout presents a live performance of everyone's favorite Muppet TV special, Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas, with live performance of the songs by local musicians. Show starts at 6:00pm. Serving the Sentence @ Heartland Cafe

Tonight at 7:30pm, Serving the Sentence, the reading series in which each piece begins with the same sentence, moves to Heartland Cafe, 7000 N. Glenwood Ave., after the closure of its former home, Towbar. Kim Nelson, Aimee Perkins, Dan Smart, Matt Pavich, Amy Sumpter, Alexandra Tsarpalas, Kyna Lenof Tori Szekeres and Maggie Jenkins will start their stories with the sentence: "It's a terrible thing to live in fear." Hosted by Kendra Stevens. No cover, but donations will be collected for the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
