Music Box Alternative Christmas Double Feature

For over 30 years the Music Box Theatre has presented a Christmas double feature of It's A Wonderful Life and White Christmas. This year, the theater is offering an alternative holiday double feature of Love Actually and National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. The films screen on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 15th and 16th. Self-Portrait in a Kanye Mirror @ MCA

Homeroom presents Self-Portrait in a Kanye Mirror," a session reflecting on Kanye West's life and art through a personal lens, tonight from 6 to 7pm at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave. Featured readers include Krista Franklin, Allison Glenn, and Lisa Yun Lee with Kevin Coval, J. Johari Palacio and Anthony Stepter; Fred Sasaki and Seth Vanek cohost. Free with museum admission.

Write Club @ Hideout

The Hideout welcomes the monthly literary sporting event known as Write Club. Three matches of Chicago writers and performers taking up opposing ideas, with the audience picking the winners. Story Club @ Co-Prosperity Sphere

Story Club South Side hosts its last show of the year tonight at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St., at 8pm. The theme is "getting cozy," and the readers include Joe Janes, Ricardo Gamboa and James "GPA" Gordon, as well as several open mic slots. Andrew Marikis hosts. The Pungent Parlor

The Pungent Parlor holds its last reading of the year at Black Rock, 3614 N. Damen Ave., at 8:30pm. Hosted by Chicago writers Jeff Phillips and Jeremy Solomon, the show will feature short stories and essays by Jac Jemc, Donny Rodriguez, Tovah Burnstein, Rachel Slotnick, Sam Wilder, Jeremy Solomon and Jeff Phillips. Doors open at 8pm. No cover, 21+
