The Newberry Library, 60 W. Walton St., hosts Stagestruck City, an exhibit illustrating the “little theatre” movement beginning in the 19th century though posters, programs, scripts, letters, and photographs. Learn about Chicago’s theater history for free during normal hours, 8:15am to 7:30pm!

Everleigh Social Club hosts its annual Black Tie & Lingerie Ball tonight at a secret North Side location (address is revealed when you buy tickets.) Enjoy Champagne, hors d'oeuvres, live music and dancing, and more. Dress code is, as the title implies, black tie or lingerie. Doors open at 9pm. Tickets are $150 for singles, $225 for couples. 21+
The Neo-Futurists ring in the new year with a performance of their show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, timed so that the show ends at the stroke of midnight.
