As The Bulls Turn...
As the season has progressed I've really not been paying too much attention to the Miami Heat, they've been a team hovering in the 3-6 seed limbo of the Eastern standings; I've been aware that Dwayne Wade has been mercilessly slaughtering defenders for the majority of the season and that he definitely deserves far more MVP chatter than he's garnered. However, after last night's double-overtime tense-fest against the Bulls; I'm now a believer in the Heat and that they will be posing a serious threat to either Boston, Orlando or Cleveland at some point in the playoffs. Just watch the video and try to convince yourself that what Wade is cooking isn't just as delicious as the Michelin-starred Kobes and LeBrons of the NBA.
For the Bulls: tough break. John Salmons had his shot rolling like ball-bearings and Ben Gordon was at his shoot-first, ask-questions-later best and it just wasn't enough, Noah was a beast and a half on the glass and Tyrus was the other half beast of the front court. But what are you going to do? The Bulls ran into a force of nature performance by Wade, c'est la vie. --Huge aside, thanks to Luol's injury, Salmons has been nudged into the starting front-court alongside Tyrus and Joakim which has been ten types of awesome. I'd give credit to Vinny Del Negro but seriously a stress fracture forced his hand. And now Chicago is back in the scrum for the 8th seed with Milwaukee, Charlotte and Jersey, while having a ten-day deathmarch against the likes of Orlando, Philly, N'awlins, Boston, OKC and LA (Lakers not Clippers) before rolling back to triage against Washington. Good luck, Chicago Bulls.
