Bulls Knot Series

Four games into their round one series, and Chicago and Boston already have an entire postseason's worth of memories and nailbiters. The Bulls tied up the riveting series at two games apiece after their dramatic double-overtime game four victory. Honestly, even haters of the NBA should be taking a long look at themselves and realizing that their foolish "unbelief" in the NBA is heretic. Cop the video above of John "That's how you spell HERO, mothafu**er!" Salmons blocking Paul Pierce's three-pointer with seconds left in OT numero dos and tell me that's not compelling sport and theater.

Game four alone had this for a boxscore along with game tying 3s at the end of regulation (by Ray Allen--frosty, yo!) and the end of overtime 1 by Ben Gordon (Hero Time). Speaking of Ben Gordon, uh oh! Seriously not cool news if BG7 is donezo for the series, so, yeah, let's hope that hamstring can get duct-taped back into shape.
Meanwhile, a further peep at the boxscore tells us, the stat-hungry and insane fans of the NBA, that we nearly had two starting point guards register a triple-double. Sadly, Derrick Rose fell one measly dime short of the trip-dub, slacker! Actually sorta cool stat is that dude did have seven! turnovers and the Bulls still won. As for the point guard that actually did have a triple-double, Rajon Rondo, DAMN! That statline: 25 pts on 50% shooting from the field, 11 boards, 11 dimes and one! turnover in 55!!! minutes of gametime, that's staggering. Rondo already had a triple-double in game two and at this point he's easily the best all-around player for Boston. He's guarding Rose as well as anyone can--making Derrick work for his shot, clogging his passing lanes; and on the offensive side sporting a fresh new look called "Mr. I Do Everything," however far the Cs get, Rondo deserves a raise this offseason.
This series has already given us two overtime classics; a buzzerbeater victory for Boston in game two; countless moments of awe and, of course, the nightmarish beatdown of game three. Still, to come, game five (Tuesday night!) where the plucky Bulls try to steal another victory in Beantown, can't wait!
