Slaughter Stays Perfect

Wheeling, West Virginia - The Chicago Slaughter, of the Continental Indoor Football League, improved their record to 4-0 after a 67-59 win over the Wheeling Wildcats on Saturday night. After numerous lead changes in the first half, Slaughter WR Donovan Morgan caught two touchdowns from QB Russ Michna late in the third quarter and in the early fourth quarter to give the team a lead they would not relinquish.

Michna led the team with 223 passing yards, seven touchdowns through the air, and one rushing touchdown. WR Donovan Morgan was the main recipient of Michna's passes, as he caught seven balls for 108 yards and four touchdowns. Defensively, DB Sidney Lewis had three tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown, while DB Austin Smith led the team with six tackles. The defense also got sacks from LB DeJuan Alfonzo and DL Khreem Smith to keep the Wildcat offense at bay.
The next home game for the Chicago Slaughter will be April 11th against the Marion Mayhem at the Sears Centre. Game time is 7pm in Hoffman Estates. The team will be hosting Mascot Night, featuring a fundraising effort to benefit Children's Memorial Hospital.
