Slaughter crush Milwaukee: Remain undefeated
The Chicago Slaughter continued their dominance Saturday night running their record to 7-0. They jumped out to an early 28-6 lead against the Milwaukee Bonecrushers. They led 35-6 at the half. The Slaughter wasted no time scoring in the first quarter. Just two minutes into the quarter Slaughter Quarterback Russ Michna delivered a 16-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Donovan Morgan. He finished with 7 catches for 122-yards and 4 TD's.
Morgan has a league leading 21 touchdown catches. The Slaughter are an offensive forced to be reckoned with. They lead the league in touchdowns, passing and first downs. Michna was in a groove from the minute the game started. He was 13-of-18 in the first half with 178-yards passing. He would finish 18-of-29 with one interception and 231-yards passing.
They went on to a 78-25 win over the Bonecrushers. The players believe there is room to still improve.
Quarterback Russ Michna said, "We sputtered a couple of times again, it's a play here, a play there. Its just little things that we've got to clean up." Despite a few miscues Michna is happy with his clubs overall position.
"We're at the midpoint now, and I'm really starting to feel like we're getting to the point that we need to be, to be really successful. Once again we still have a play or two, but that's football it's going to happen," said Michna. "Hopefully we'll keep moving forward and playing well."
With their confidence at an all time high Michna and company would like to eliminate the mistakes that keep taking place.
"We just want to go out there and execute," he said. "This is a very confident team. We just want to take all the mistakes out. We constantly have mistakes week after week. We have five weeks left to iron all those and be ready to finish this thing off."
Their next home game is next Saturday night at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates. For Tickets visit the Chicago Slaughter website at www.chicagoslaughter.com or call 847 -310-3190.
