30 Years Ago at Wrigley
I was fortunate enough to have someone pass along to me this article by Rich Hofmann of philly.com. It contains excerpts of the Phillies' broadcast during their 23-22, 10 inning victory over the Cubs at Wrigley Field on May 17th, 1979. I was not even born when this game was played but it has to be one of the wildest I've ever heard of; both starting pitchers only lasted 0.1 inning. It may be three days past the 30th anniversary the article originally meant to celebrate, but it is still worth the quick read.
