Blackhawks Fire Dale Tallon

In a surprising move the Blackhawks have fired their General Manager Dale Tallon.This coming after the Blackhawks reached the Western Conference Finals. It was the first time they reached the Conference Finals since '92. The Hawks are expected to make a formal announcement Tuesday.

My commentary: was a long time coming with rumors of disagreements the past year once Scotty Bowman was brought in, and the restricted free agent miscue gave them a reason to make the change.

With Tallon staying on as an advisor, it'll help smooth the transition, but Stan Bowman's been being groomed for this role for at least the past two years, and the next two years will be crucial for the GM to deal with the cap issues and resigning Kane, Toews and Keith.
