Join the Winter Dance (and Ice Skating) Party
Just because it's cold outside does not mean Chicagoans have to stay indoors. The Chicago Office of Tourism has the perfect solution to cure those winter blues: Chicago Winter Dance in Millennium Park.
That's right, a winter dance party. Starting in February, citizens of Chicago can get their groove on at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion with dance lessons in various styles like ballroom, tango, swing, Latin, and many more. Participants can enjoy free lessons from the warmth of the pavilion stage, followed by an open dance where everyone can let loose on the dance floor.
But wait, there's more! Winter Dance will also include ice skating. Anyone wanting to learn to ice skate or improve their current skill level can join in on free lessons at the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. On top of a fun and friendly atmosphere, special guests will be dropping by throughout the month, including the Chicago Wolves' mascot and guests from Radio Disney.Lessons take place every Saturday and Sunday morning starting February 6.
And if that wasn't enough, Winter Dance is also featuring themed, Late Night Ice Dance Parties. Skate the night away decked out in your best sock hop or country western outfit while swaying to the music of the night. Food and beverages from Park Grill will be available for purchase at every skate event. Participants can also look forward to skating performances and giveaways every weekend.
So instead of staying cooped up inside this season, embrace the wintry wonderland that is Millennium Park and enjoy some free festivities sure to warm the Chicago spirit.
