As The Bulls Turn: Tyrus To Houston? Bulls Batter Knicks
After dropping 4 of 6 prior to the All-Star Break, the Bulls took their frustrations out on the woeful New York Knicks at the United Center last night. Chicago shot a season-high .605% from the field in a laugher that wasn't even close after the first half. The heretofore dinged up Derrick Rose led all scorers with 29 points on 14 of 18 shooting [That's really good --Ed.] while the rookie forward Taj Gibson added 10 boards, 2 steals, 3 blocks and 6 points. David Lee added 24 points and 12 rebounds for the Knicks in the loss. In any case, the two clubs are meeting up again tonight in Madison Square Garden in a home-'n-home series.
As both teams were duking it out on the hardwood (and will continue to do so on Wednesday night) both the Knicks and Bulls were dancing the "NBA tango of the trade deadline" looking to ship players and salaries to line themselves up for the 2010 free agent gold rush this offseason.
For the Knicks they're in discussions with many teams including the Los Angeles Lakers and Houston Rockets to ship/acquire various players. Most intriguingly? The rumors that Tracy McGrady will be shipped to NYC for Jared Jeffries and/or Al Harrington and some spare parts (Look! Larry Hughes!) but!, hold the phone!, the Bulls are talking with Houston about acquiring T-Mac for Tyrus Thomas and some spare parts (Look! John Salmons) Oh young NBA trade love, who will court the comely Tracy McGrady and win the maiden's hand? Tune in (between now and) Thursday on "As The Bulls Turn".
