Jim McMahon Named Slaughter's New Owner
Chicago legend and (still) the only Bear quarterback to win a Super Bowl title, Jim McMahon has been named the new owner of the Chicago Slaughter. Coming off of a very successful 2009 season that saw the Slaughter go an undefeated 14-0 on their way to winning the Continental Indoor Football League Championship the team is looking forward to head coach Steve "Mongo" McMichael and McMahon (teammates on the 1985 Super Bowl Champion Bears) teaming up once again to bring another title to the Windy City. In addition to McMahon the Slaughter added a new on-field component, namely, Jarrett Payton the former standout University of Miami running back and son of Bear great, Walter Payton. The Slaughter season kicks off next Saturday in Hoffman Estates.
