Windy City Rollers Tue Feb 23 2010
The first game of the Windy City Rollers' bout on Sunday, Feb. 21, paired two previously unbeaten teams, the Manic Attackers and the Double Crossers. The Crossers opened strong with a slow pack, giving the Manic jammers a rough time. The teams remained within five points of each other for much of the game, but soon into the second half, the Manics were in the lead 63/46. Even so, Double Crossers jammers Julia Rosenwinkle and Donna Party closed up the gap within minutes, and the game ended in their favor 103-84.
The second game pitted The Fury against the Hell's Belles, and from the get-go, The Fury took the advantage, scoring 33 points within the first six minutes. Belles jammer Shocka Conduit put up a good fight, but was no match for Fury jammers Kola Loka and Jackie Daniels, a recent acquisition from the Grand Raggidy Roller Girls in Grand Rapids, MI. In the end, The Fury kept a lid on it, closing the game at 162-65.
