Short Hops is the official link depot of Tailgate because really there's never enough links about sports, am I right, folks? Speaking of official links, check out our official Twitter link: @GBTailgate
Chicago Is Officially "HarveryUnganistan" For Remainder of Infinity
The Chicago Bears smartly drafted Harvey Unga in the NFL's supplemental draft. Unga --a 3rd round talent, that was a steal in the supplemental draft officially signed his contract with the Second City Ursas and will be rocking training camp with the rest of the rookies starting July 30 in Bourbonais, Illinois. Unga, BYU's all-time leader in rushing yards, will be a likely contributor to special teams and a rotational RB option with plenty of firepower and catching ability out of the backfield.
Derrick Rose Is In Vegas, Noah Maybe in France?
Bulls kinfe wielding point guard (cuz he's a slasher, you see) Derrick Rose is out in the neon desert of Las Vegas this week. Not to gamble mind you, he's out in Vegas working out with such NBA luminaries as Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Brook Lopez, Tyreke Evans and Lamar Odom in Team USA's search for its final roster for the 2010 FIBA Basketball Championships taking place in Turkey next month. Meanwhile, over in France, Rose's Bulls comrade, Joakim Noah is potentially going to be cleaning the glass and dunking put-backs for Team France next month in Turkey. Though not finalized as a participant, Noah has already been listed on Les Bleus roster on FIBA's website.
NBA Jerseys Fashion "Do" for Hipsters?
Witnessed at Pitchfork Fest last weekend were tens of NBA jerseys from various teams and eras. Tailgate saw at least two very "don't" unis in the form of a Toni Kukoc Bulls jersey (please, if you're really cool you'd be wearing a Kukoc Milwaukee Bucks uni) and a [polite phrase for overly large and soft person that shouldn't wear a mesh basketball jersey] fanboy rocking the 2003-04 Darko Milicic Pistons uni. Still, if you've been paying attention you know that the NBA is the de facto sport for hipsters to follow. Fact.
