Bulls Wed Aug 04 2010

Who Said the NBA Summer is Boring?

Sure, things have really slowed down on the Bulls front, but this does not mean that nothing is happening. All it means is that you have to look outside the box for interesting stories. Here are a few to tide you over for a couple days.

All I Want For Christmas...
The Bulls will be back on the annual NBA Christmas Day showcase this upcoming season. And apparently they have been good because their opponents will be the Knicks. It feels like Christmas in August.

Season Begins with Thunder, No Word on Lightning
In other scheduling news, the Bulls begin their quest for glory in 2010/11 by playing the NBA's new golden moral standard Kevin Durant and his Oklahoma City Thunder. Should be an interesting litmus test to how the teams come out of the pre-season. Don't read much into this game, the new Bulls will take a few weeks to get into each other's heads.

Rose Goes to Turkey?
A fun subplot to this off-season has been the reconfiguring of the USA Men's National Team. With no returning members from the now famous Redeem Team who won the Olympic Gold in Beijing. the future of USA Basketball is in the spotlight. While most have ceded the fact that this is Kevin Durant's team, there are many interested eyes on Derrick Rose. No official word yet on his inclusion on the team that will be playing in the World Championships, but if their are any Chicago natives in Turkey it might be a good idea to get tickets.

We Didn't Need a New House Anyway
The majority of the moves that will grab headlines are over. Slowly, though, the Bulls have been constructing a very different team. To fill out the final roster spot they are looking for a quality backup guard. All indications are that the interest is in Keith Bogans and Roger Mason (now that Eddie House has joined the South Beach Heat).

Finally, ESPN has put together a handy way of tracking all the movement this offseason. Find the entire list of movement here.

This is what Chicago has done:
