Knowledge-a-Bull -- Kyle Korver
From time to time, we'll introduce one of your Chicago Bulls, hopefully letting you know a few things you didn't know before. This is one of those times.
Kyle Korver
Guard/Forward • 6-7, 212 • Creighton University • 8th year
Twitter: @KyleKorver • Website: KyleKorver.com
Season stats: 8.3 pts, 2.0 reb, 1.6 ast, .406 3FG%, .857 FT%
-- One of four brothers, Kyle's siblings all have names that start with "K" (Kirk, Kaleb, Klayton).
-- Many people have noticed his resemblance to Ashton Kutcher. Many people have also commented on it, to the point where Korver really doesn't want to hear it anymore. But you don't truly kill the joke until some older folks realize it, several years after both Korver and Kutcher have been around in popular culture. Beat that horse dead, Clyde!
-- The Kyle Korver Foundation, begun during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers, focuses on improving the community, or in his case, the communities of several different cities. Philly, Salt Lake, he's even been back to Creighton (in Omaha, Neb.) to help out a local Boys and Girls Club there. Since arriving in Chicago, Korver has helped out with a coat drive in December through Operation Warm. Proceeds from his clothing line, Seer Outfitters, benefit "underprivileged kids and those in need."
-- Speaking of charity, there's this from his days with the Utah Jazz:
-- Shot 53.6 percent on threes last season, breaking Steve Kerr's record of 52.4 set in 1994-95.
-- Was named National Midseason Player of the Year by Dick Vitale in his 2003 season at Creighton, though it's possible Vitale just saw the "Blue" part of "Creighton Bluejays" and assumed he went to Duke.
-- Scored a school and Missouri Valley Conference record with 371 3-pointers during his college career, good for sixth in NCAA history.
-- His father and mother both played college basketball at Central College in Iowa, and his mother once scored 74 points in a high school game.
