As The Bulls Turn: Bulls Bound Into All-Star Weekend, NOAH!!

"I'm definitely in my zone."

Big ups to Joakim Noah who notched his first career triple-double last night in the win against Milwaukee. The pogo-legged one had been simmering like a volcano recently with 11 double-doubles in his last 17 games, and there it was: the boundless joy of #airgunz and a triple-double eruption for Mount St. JoNo. Dismiss the fact that Milwaukee was without the services of both Andrew Bogut and Drew Gooden (Noah would've likely nabbed double digit rebounds regardless) and stare slack jawed at his 10 assists and 13 points in a mere 29:49 of game time. Impressive work.

Impressive work all around for the Bulls. Mind you, this is, much like last time, a very depleted Bucks squad, but the Bulls took care of business like the skull-crushing squad of Terminators that they can be when they're playing their best ball. And with that, the first half of the NBA season is closed for the Bulls. Thibodeau, Deng and Rose are Orlando-bound and everyone else gets to the put their feet up for a few days, lick their wounds, and chill.

Chicago won't play again until February 28th and here's to hoping that Derrick Rose gets plenty of R&R in Orlando for his back (and toe issues), while Thibs gives Luol only spare run in the All-Star game.

Anything Else?

Not too much, but I would like to hand out a special two-way "Yo, What's Up Award" today to these ballers from last night:

Greg Monroe: Fought valiantly as a warrior-poet (he read excerpts from "Swimming To Cambodia" at halftime for inspiration, which on second thought wasn't such a hot idea), while dropping an easy, breezy, Cover Girl 30 and 14 against the Raptors (sigh) in the loss to Toronto.

Monta Ellis:

Goodness, Monta. Asking for donations in degree of difficulty, "Mr Hill, please guard me closer and please be five inches taller than me." Monta elevated while fading away. Remarkable shot. Clutch. "WAKA!"
