B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls beat WCR All-Stars 230-135
The B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls beat the Windy City Rollers All-Stars 230-135 in the quarterfinals of the 2013 Women's Flat Track Derby Association championships.
B.ay A.rea jumped out to a 32-0 lead early in the first half before the All-Stars scored their first points. All-Stars jammers had a tough time dealing with B.ay A.rea blockers, though Jackie Daniels and Sandrine Rangeon kept the All-Stars from falling too far behind.
A 45-0 run brought the All-Stars to within 7 points with under 10 minutes left in the first half, but B.ay A.rea kept the pressure on and took a 109-64 lead into halftime.
B.ay A.rea came out of the locker room strong, but strong jamming kept the All-Stars in the game. The All-Stars appeared to be on the verge of a comeback, but B.ay A.rea picked up steam late to keep the All-Stars out of it.
