Get Your Paws on Chicago Humanities Festival Tickets
Tickets to the Chicago Humanities Festival go on sale to the public today. The theme this year is "Animal: What Makes Us Human", and we're going ape for the literary line-up (sorry, couldn't resist). Here's a quick rundown of the superstars shooting our way this October and November. (This list is not exhaustive, so check the site for deets, and grab your tix before they sell out!)
- Pulitzer Prize-winning author Junot Diaz discusses his life and work on Sunday, October 13.
- Daniel Handler, aka Lemony Snicket, makes a book stop tour on Friday, November 1, and is joined by Chicago's own odd-fish, James Kennedy, for a post-show event.
- Poet Anne Carson reads from her latest work on Saturday, November 2.
- What's up with Donna Tartt? She'll be discussing her new book on Saturday, November 2.
- Sherman Alexie is joined in conversation with local author Rebecca Makkai on Saturday, November 9.
- Get your senses on with poet and essayist Diane Ackerman as she explores animal courtship and romance, on Sunday, November 10.
- Novelist Nicholson Baker will converse with Chicago author Sara Levine on Sunday, November 10.
