Chicago Motorcycle Show

The Chicago Motorcycle Show is at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Rd. in Rosemont, Jan. 7-9. See new and vintage bikes of all makes, meet championship racers and more. Tickets are $17 or $25 for a two-day pass, $35 for a three-day pass. The show is open from 1pm to 9pm today.

First Fridays @ MCA

The Hideout curates First Fridays at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave., tonight from 6 to 10pm. The theme is Love is Love, and all your favorite Hideout regulars will be there: Soup and Bread, Write Club, the Interview Show, John Langford and Sally Timms, the Revelettes and many more. The Syria Dilemma @ Book Cellar

Syria scholars and activists read from and discuss the new book The Syria Dilemma tonight at 7pm at the Book Cellar, 4736 N. Lincoln Ave. The panel will include Zaher Sahloul, president of the Syrian American Medical Society, Nader Hashemi, director of the Center for Middle East Studies at the University of Denver, Danny Postel, associate director of the Center for Middle East Studies at the University of Denver. Hashemi and Postel are co-editors of The Syria Dilemma. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.

Crispin Glover @ Patio Theater

Filmmaker Crispin Glover comes to the Patio Theater, 6008 W. Irving Park Ave., tonight at 8pm for a "Crispin Hellion Glover's Big Slide Show part 1" a screening of his film, It is Fine. EVERYTHING IS FINE!, and a Q&A and book signing. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $20.

Chicago Auto Show First Look for Charity

The Chicago Auto Show opens Saturday at the McCormick Place, and runs through Feb. 17, but you can get in early tonight during the First Look for Charity: from 7 to 11pm, check out the cars while enjoying wine, hors d'oeuvres and live music. Black tie required. Tickets are $250. Proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, JDRF and the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and other local nonprofits.

Gina Frangello @ Women & Children First

Author Gina Frangello celebrates the release of A Life in Men, a book that explores love, sex and illness through the lens of best friends Mary and Nix, tonight at 7:30pm at Women & Children First, 5233 N. Clark St. Refreshments will be served. Preview in Book Club. Free.

John Butler Trio, Little Hurricane @ The Vic

Be transported to the pinnacle of blues-rock and have a serious winter warm up at The Vic Theatre, 3145 N.
