Soup and Bread @ The Hideout

Volunteer chefs serve up soup tonight from 5:30-8pm at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia) at this weekly benefit for food pantries/hunger relief organizations in the area (a different one is selected each week). Show up, eat, and donate what you can. Free.

Stand Up Throw Down @ Township

Stand-Up Throw Down is a team of six Chicago stand-up comedians aiming to push stand-up to the front of the comedy scene. They will have a performance tonight at Township, 2200 North California Avenue. The doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets run for $5.

Louder Than A Bomb: Annual Mixtape Release Party @ Schubas

Louder Than A Bomb is the largest youth poetry festival in the world. Throughout the year, the Young Chicago Authors lead workshops and poetry slams all over Chicago. They are having their annual mixtape release party tonight at Schubas, 3159 North Southport Avenue, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and all ages are welcome.

The Cat Diaries @ Haymarket Pub

The Cat Diaries, a storytelling event about cats and other animals, takes place tonight from 7:30 to 9pm at the Haymarket Pub & Brewery, 737 W. Randolph St. There's also a raffle, and all proceeds benefit Harmony House for Cats. Angela Vela and Ray Teresi host. Tickets are Tickets are $20 or two for $30.
