The Chainlink's 10,000th Member Party
Cycling forum The Chainlink celebrates its 10,000th member with a party tonight from 6 to 11pm at the Half Acre Tap Room, 4257 N. Lincoln Ave. $9 in advance or $10 at the door gets you a tour of the brewery, free food and beer and other fun stuff. Space is limited, so get there early. 21+
Gapers Block Crits
Half Acre Cycling hosts the Gapers Block Crits March 31-April 3 in Calumet Park, 9801 S. Avenue G. The races begin at 6pm. Registration is now closed, but there are 10 slots held for walkups; arrive by 5:30pm to get on the wait list. Or just come down to watch!
Chowdah Fest
Chowdah Fest returns to the Columbia Yacht Club, 111 N. Lake Shore Drive, tonight at 6:30pm. $55 gets you samples of chowders from 15 competing chefs, as well as drinks and dessert. Vote for your favorite to be crowned "Best Chowdah in Town." Proceeds benefit the Sea Scouts youth sailing program.
The Dinner Party @ City Winery
The Dinner Party returns to City Winery, 1200 W. Randolph St., tonight at 7pm. This month, host Elysabeth Alfano talks with chef Rick Bayless, author Sara Paretsky and New Yorker cartoonist Pat Byrnes, and chef Carrie Nahabedian prepares dinner and sits in on the conversation as well. Singer Joan Collaso opens the show. Tickets are $45 per person and include dinner. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Chicago Improv Festival
The 17th annual Chicago Improv Festival runs March 31 to April 6 at locations around the city. The festival kicks off tonight with The Best of Chicago Improv -- featuring Baby Wants Candy, The Boys and Improvised Shakespeare Company -- at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., at 8pm. Tickets are $15
