The Love That Let Us Share Our Name is Traci Fowler's first solo exhibition, and it opens at C33 Gallery, 33 E. Congress Pkwy, 1st floor, at 5pm tonight. The show will feature sculptural pieces, domestic objects and foliage that "pump up the tackiness" of traditional materials. The exhibition will be on view until Dec. 5.
The School of the Art Institute's 26th annual Holiday Art Sale runs Nov. 20-22 in the SAIC Ballroom, 112 S. Michigan Ave. Shop for art of all media created by more than 120 students. Tonight's preview event is from 6 to 9pm, and costs $25.
Tonight's event, part of the Chicago Food Film Festival, is about heat, heat and heat; enjoy a multi-course meal (Tacos! Sausage! Soup!) while watching several short films (among them the aptly titled "Sriracha") at Kendall College (900 N. North Branch), 6:30pm (6pm early entry for VIPs). Tickets $65-85.
Gilbert Gottfried does two shows at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., tonight, at 7:30 and 9:30pm. Tickets are $25, plus two food or beverage minimum. 21+
