23rd Annual Wreathing of the Lions @ Art Institute

The Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S. Michigan Ave., officially place the evergreen wreaths on their lion statues this morning at 10:30am. Following the ceremony there will be some family holiday crafts to participate in; see the Art Institute's website for details.

Michael Milano Solo Exhibition for Trunk Show

Located at "a friend's garage" on 427 N. Albany, the mobile exhibition space Trunk Show will be hosting an opening reception today from 11am to 1pm for Chicago-based artist and writer, Michael Milano. The show features bumper stickers and will benefit Trunk Show's purchase of a new tape deck for the venue/car.

Sing-Along Sound of Music @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre hosts the annual Sing-Along Sound of Music screening this weekend, with two screenings today at 4:00pm and 8:30pm. Attendees will be given props to be used at different points in the film, and the lyrics will be shown on the screen for everyone to sing along. And don't forget the costume contest! White Mystery @ Red Line Tap

Goose Island does a tap takeover at Red Line Tap, 7006 N. Pixar In Concert @ CSO

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra presents Pixar In Concert, a performance of songs from the animation studio's beloved films, Nov. 28-30 at Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Ave. Tonight's show is at 8pm, and tickets are $57-165 online or through the box office at 312-294-3000.

Lydia Loveless @ Lincoln Hall

Lydia Loveless of local label Bloodshot Records will be performing her wonderful mesh of punk laced country songs at Lincoln Hall, 2424 North Lincoln Avenue. Joining her will be some power pop from The Girls and a little soulful folk from Baby Money. Tickets are $15.

Good Vybes Fest @ Empty Bottle

Eye Vybe Records presents Good Vybes Fest today and Saturday at the Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave. Today's lineup includes Purling Hiss, Beset By Creatures of the Deep, Moss Folk, The Hanging Gardens and the Velcro Lewis Group DJs. Doors open at 9pm.
