Chicago Arts District Second Fridays

The September edition of 2nd Fridays Gallery Night in Pilsen will feature work by multi-disciplinary artists in 30-plus galleries and creative spaces in the Chicago Arts District. You'll find all manner of art and artists, as well as explore the gorgeous architecture and courtyards on Halsted Street between 16th and Cermak. Plan your stroll by picking up a map at the info center at 1821 S. Halsted St., or check out the event calendar. 6pm-10pm.

Danny Brown/Lucki Eck$/Matchess @ Thalia Hall

Danny Brown will be headlining this Red Bull Sound Select show at Thalia Hall,1807 S. Allport St. This Empty Bottle curated night will also feature two local artists, rapper Lucki Eck$ and the hypnotizing ambiance of Matchess. Tickets are available first come first serve at the door for $15 or only $5 if you RSVP. Doors open at 8pm so get their early!

Searching for Weng Weng @ Chicago Filmmakers

The Chicago Cinema Society hosts a screening of Searching for Weng Weng, a documentary about the improbable 2-foot-tall Filipino action film star, tonight at Chicago Filmmakers, 5243 N Clark St., at 8pm. Director Andrew Leavold will be in attendance to introduce the film and do a Q&A afterward. Tickets are $8.

Trombone Shorty @ The Vic

New Orleans comes to the Vic, 3145 N. Sheffield Ave., tonight at 8pm when Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue play, with the Soul Rebels Brass Band opening. Tickets are $30. 18+

Go Go Holiday Rock 'n' Roll Dance Party @ Old Town School

The Old Town School of Folk Music presents a holiday music show with go-go dancers from the school's dance classes. The show starts at 8:30pm in Szold Hall, located in the school's newest building at 4545 N. Nashville Pussy @ Reggies

The Bottle Hop @ Empty Bottle

Best of TML @ Neo-Futurarium

The Neo-Futurists present the best of the plays they wrote in 2014 for their flagship show Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. The best-of show runs Friday and Saturday nights at 11:30pm, and Sunday at 7pm. All shows happen at The Neo-Futurarim, 5153 N. Ashland Ave.
