Indie craft market Show of Hands holds its first spring show this weekend, May 8-10 at Architectural Artifacts, 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave. The show features more than 70 vendors offering handmade paper goods, ceramics, jewelry, clothing, decorative products and more. It's open from 10am to 5pm today.
Peregrineprogram, located at 3311 W. Carroll Ave. #119, is featuring a new exhibition entitled, Oh! Oh! Oh!. The photographs by Kelly Kaczynski are reenactments of the eight positions of the body in the Charles Ray sculpture, "Oh! Charley Charley Charley". The opening reception is from 1 to 4pm, and is free and open to the public.
The live lit series That's All She Wrote is back at Great Lakes Tattoo, 1148 W. Grand Ave. This month's lineup includes Eric May, Dina Elenbogen, bokeen, Katie Liesener, and Eileen Tull. Co-hosted by J.H. Palmer and Angela Benander. Doors open at 7:30, stories begin at 8pm. Free and BYOB.
The Empty Bottle, 1035 N. Western Ave., kicks off the 2015 HoZac Blackout Fest this evening at 9pm with an art show before the main festival. The Yolks, Werewheels, Skip Church and Joey Rubbish perform. Admission is $5 online or at the door. Festival passes are $40. See the Empty Bottle site for a complete schedule. 21+
The You Are Here Festival, aka The Maze, makes its Chicago debut at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St., May 7-24. The festival takes place inside a maze, immersing attendees in the experience that includes light shows, art installations, audio experiments and live performances. Tonight's performers include Diamond Terrifyer and Patrick Higgins. The fest runs from 9pm to midnight. Tickets are $10. 21+
