Northwest Side Craft Beer Ride

Lake Effect Brewery hosts this crawl of four Northwest side bars tonight from 6-11pm. You'll get bus service to four bars serving locally made beers (among them Pipeworks). Tickets $20.

Conversation: Frances Stark @ The Art Institute of Chicago

From 6-7pm this evening, Frances Stark, will be giving an artist talk at the Art Institute of Chicago. Attendance is free with museum admission. The AIC is located at 111 S. Michigan Avenue. Following the talk will be an opening reception of Intimism.

Oran Etkin Trio @ Pritzker Pavilion

As a part of the Israeli Jazz and World Music Festival, the Oran Etkin Trio will be performing tonight at 6:30pm with the Chicago Children's Choir. Oran Etkin's music has earned snaps from the likes of New York Times music critic Ben Ratliff and musician Yusef Lateef. The performance will be held at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park, located at 201 E. Randolph. Admission is free.

Third Coast Percussion & Glenn Kotche @ MCA

Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche teams up with Third Coast Percussion for Wild Sound, a performance featuring unique musical instruments conceived by Kotche and designed and originally built by faculty members and students at the University of Notre Dame’s School of Engineering, tonight and Friday at the Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E. Chicago Ave. Tickets are $22 for MCA members, $28 for nonmembers and $10 for students. Friday's show is sold out, but tickets are still available for tonight's 7:30pm performance.

Stars Align @ GMan Tavern

Gapers Block and Begyle Brewing are proud to present Stars Align, a monthly concert series featuring two artists in a one-night-only collaboration at GMan Tavern, 3740 N. Clark St. This month we feature Gina Bloom and Donnie Biggins Paul Gulyas. You may recognize Gina from her band The Congregation, or possibly her new joint, The Need and The Night featuring Gina Bloom. And Donnie is well known as singer and guitarist of The Shams Band and organizer of Dunn Dunn Fest. They'll do an hour set full of each other's songs, some favorite covers and maybe even an original. As an added bonus, Begyle is doing a tap takeover at GMan as part of Chicago Craft Beer Week. Come taste some of the freshest beer you can get while you enjoy the great music! Doors are at 7:30pm, show's at 8pm. Free, 21+ UPDATE: Due to a family emergency, The Shams Band's other singer and guitarist, Paul Gulyas, will be filling in for Donnie Biggins. It's still going to be awesome.

You Are Here Festival

The You Are Here Festival, aka The Maze, makes its Chicago debut at Thalia Hall, 1807 S. Allport St., May 7-24. The festival takes place inside a maze, immersing attendees in the experience that includes light shows, art installations, audio experiments and live performances. Tonight's performers include Tim Kinsella, Matt Lux, Alex Ingilzian, Adam Vida, Ben Lamar Guy, Will Faber, Leroy Bach and Ben Boye. The fest runs from 9pm to midnight. Tickets are $10. 21+
