How to Draw Comics The Ladydrawers' Way

Tonight at 6pm at Women & Children First, 5233 N. Clark St., the Ladydrawers Comics Collective and Femicomix Finland present "a series of performances, readings, games, and possibly interpretive dances from international comics creators that will show you how to make comics The Ladydrawers Way™" in celebration of the release of the Ladydrawers' new anthology, How To Draw Comics The Ladydrawers Way™!. Admission is free.

Chef's Playground @ Art Institute

Join an array of local chefs (among them Spiaggia's Tony Mantuano, Boka's Meg Galus and Lee Wolen, Belly Q's Bill Kim, and The Purple Pig's Jimmy Bannos) for an evening of eating to benefit the Academy for Global Citizenship tonight at Terzo Piano, located in the Art Institute's Modern Wing (159 E. Monroe). Event begins 7pm; VIP ticketholders get early entry at 6pm. Tickets start at $200.

Congrats on Your Success Stand-Up @ Uncharted Books

Congrats on Your Success is a BYOB stand-up comedy show held at Uncharted Books every 1st Thursday of the month. Tonight's 7pm session will be headlined by Brian Babylon of "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" and will also feature Miles Hendrix, Laura Hugg, Marty DeRosa, and Tommy Mac. Tonight they will also be featuring free beer, courtesy of Powell Brew House. Admission to the show is free; donations, however, are encouraged, and will go to the performers. Uncharted Books is located at 2620 N Milwaukee Ave.

Premier Premieres! @ Music Comedy Live Chicago

Music Comedy Live Presents Premier Premieres! a weekend festival full of brand new musical comedies, beginning tonight at 8pm on MCL Chicago's stage, located at 3110 N. Sheffield. The fest's first showing will be Motel Rasdell, a comedic story centered on a sleazy motel and its inhabitants located just outside of 1940s Boston. Tickets for the show are $15, or you can buy a festival pass for $65, plus a $4 online transaction fee (insert eye roll here). The festival will run from tonight through Saturday.

Will Butler @ Lincoln Hall

Missed Arcade Fire's Will Butler when he played his solo show at the Hideout back in March? Don't worry, so did pretty much everyone else in Chicago - but now's your chance to make it right. Butler is doing a double header at Lincoln Hall today and tomorrow with Jo Firestone opening. Both days start at 9pm, Lincoln Hall is located at 2424 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets for today are sold out but are available for tomorrow for $16.
