Chicago Blues Festival @ Grant Park

The largest free blues festival in the world, the Chicago Blues Festival once again returns to the city of Chicago. This year, the 32nd of the annual festival, legend Buddy Guy will headline the festival, performing tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th. Today's headliners include Zora Young, Clarence Carter, and Syl Johnson. You can find a complete schedule of performances here. Grant Park is located at the junction of E. Jackson Blvd. and Columbus Drive. Admission is free.

Chantala Kommanivanh "Sabai, Sabai" Opening Reception @ NYCH Gallery

NYCH Gallery is presenting the new paintings of Chantala Kommanivanh during an opening reception tonight from 6-10pm. The gallery is free and open to the public. Located at 643 W 18th St.


Chicago Arts District 2nd Friday

The June edition of 2nd Fridays Gallery Night in East Pilsen will feature work by multi-disciplinary artists in 30-plus galleries and creative spaces in the Chicago Arts District. You'll find all manner of art and artists, as well as explore the gorgeous architecture and courtyards on Halsted Street between 16th and Cermak. Chicago African Diaspora Film Festival @ Facets

Chicago Women in Blues Festival

The fifth annual Chicago Women & Blues Festival returns to Reggies, 2105 S. State St., tonight at 7pm. The lineup features BlackCat Joan Gand and Blue Road, HolleeThee Maxwell, Shirley King, Liz Mandeville, Shirley Johnson, Mz. Peachez, Donna Herula, Tracee Adams, Dia Madden, Ramblin Rose, Ellen Miller, TK the Tequila Kid, Sherri Weathersby and more. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, with special seating options for a little bit more. 17+

EEProm @ Polymathic

Polymathic, 2423 W. North Ave., hosts the second annual EEProm, aka Tech Prom, tonight at 7pm. If you're a hardware or software geek -- or someone who loves them -- go dance, enjoy some punch, and cavort with fellow nerds. Tickets are $15 for individuals, $25 for couples. Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Summer Series

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago debuts their second program solely comprised of pieces created by Resident Choreographer Alejandro Cerrudo. Cerrudo became the company's first Resident Choreographer in 2009, and has since choreographed 13 pieces with Hubbard Street. The Series will feature a wide range of Cerrudo's pieces, including the world premiere of his 14th piece created for the Company. Tonight's show starts at 8pm at the Harris Theater at 205 E. Randolph. Tickets are $25-77.

Clearance @ Observatory Studios

Clearance launches their summer tour tonight at Observatory Studios, 3036 N. Lincoln Ave., Apt 4, with Landmarks, Zigtebra and Paul Cherry opening. $5 at the door, which opens at 8pm.

Chicago Samba @ Old Town School of Folk Music
