Oyster Fest @ Shaw's Crab House

Get selfish with shellfish today at Shaw's (435 N. Wabash, near Hubbard and Rush) from 3 to 10pm. Music, craft beer, and lotsa oysters await you; $30 for admission (food and drink sold separately, but a seated special dinner at $75 per person can also be purchased). St. Lucia plays at 8pm.

German-American Fest

The 95th annual German-American Fest takes over Lincoln Square this weekend, Sept. 11-13, on Lincoln Avenue from Western to Eastwood. Enjoy beer and wine, giant pretzels, German music and dancing. It's open from 5 to 11pm tonight. Admission is free.

The Interview Show @ Hideout

The Interview Show returns to the Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia Ave., tonight. Host Mark Bazer talks with Emily Graslie, Jen Kirkman and Veronica Roth, with special musical guest Marrow. Doors open at 5:30pm, show's at 6:30pm. Tickets are $10. 21+

Chicago Fringe Festival

The Chicago Fringe Festival runs Sept. 3-13 in five venues throughout the Jefferson Park neighborhood. Pick up a festival button (required for all shows) for $5 online or at Fischman's Liquors, 4780 N. Milwaukee Ave., then take your pick of the many performances of experimental theater, performance art, sketch comedy, dance and more -- see the schedule for daily details. Tickets to performances are $10, with multi-show tickets available. Shows start at 6pm tonight.

Irena Haiduk: Opening Reception @ The Renaissance Society

Irena Haiduk's exhibition, "Seductive Exacting Realism", opens today from 6-9pm at the Renaissance Society located at 5811 S Ellis Ave.

Lakeview East Festival of the Arts

The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts runs Sept. 11-13 along Broadway from Stratford to Belmont. The festival this year includes live music on two stages, a cooking demo stage, children's activity area, and more than 150 artists and artisans selling their work. The festival runs from 6 to 10pm tonight.

Chicago Arts District 2nd Friday

The Chicago Arts District hosts 2nd Fridays Gallery Night tonight from 6 to 10pm. Check out opening receptions at more than 30 galleries and artists' studios centered around South Halsted and 18th Streets in Chicago. Maps are available at the information center at 1821 S. Halsted St. Free.

Laura Davis and Seth Kim-Cohen Opening Reception @ Threewalls

Threewalls Gallery will be hosting a solo exhibition for Laura Davis entitled, Legacy of Loneliness, as well as Seth Kim-Cohen's, Bars (of Ponge's "SOAP") work in the Project Room. The opening reception is from 6-9 and the location is 119 N. Peoria, 2C.

Chrome Green Opening Reception @ Heaven Gallery

Heaven Gallery, 1550 N. Milwaukee Ave., will be featuring 10 artists in the group exhibition, Chrome Green, which opens tonight from 7 to 11pm. The show focuses on nature and environment.


Meet the Patels @ Music Box

The Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport begins screening the 2014 film Meet the Patels, a documentary about one man's search for the perfect wife. A Q&A session with Vasant and Champa Patel led by GB film critic Steve Prokopy will take place after tonight's screenings at 7:20 and 9:45pm.
