It's never too early to look for the perfect gift for your loved ones, and if you're not the type to start your shopping on Black Friday, you should definitely head on over to the School of Art Institute of Chicago, 112 S. Michigan Ave., for their annual holiday art sale. For the last 27 years, the school has provided this opportunity for their students to sell and share pieces of their work from their collection, which includes sculptures, photographs, knitwear, jewelry and paintings. Admission for the sale is free. The students' artwork varies in price range, and all proceeds are placed toward the school's education programs. The sale is open from 11am to 7pm today.
The Show of Hands craft show runs Nov. 20-22 at Architectural Artifacts, 4325 N. Ravenswood Ave. Shop for holiday gifts from dozens of local artists and crafters. Admission to tonight's preview session, from 5 to 9pm, is two for $10; the show is free over the weekend.
Chicago's non-profit organizations have joined together to create Out in the Open Sleep Out, an event that aims to raise awareness for the city's youth who face homelessness. Out in the Open invites friends and families to participate in the all-night charity event that will take place at Cricket Hill, in Lincoln Park at Montrose. The event starts tonight at 6pm and will continue until 8am tomorrow. Advance registration is $75; registration on-site is $85.
The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild holds this weekend-long salute to beer at the UIC Forum (725 W. Roosevelt). Over 90 breweries will be serving 300 beers; your $60 admission gets you the samplings and glory. Three sessions: tonight 6-10pm, and tomorrow from 1-5pm and 6-10pm.
The Chicago Reader sponsors a squash-themed cookoff tonight from 6 to 9pm at State and Lake, 201 N. State St. Tasting portions of the eats (from chefs reppin' places like Char & Oak and Rural Society), beer from Bell's, and country music await you. Tickets are $43.

It's no secret hip-hop performer Sango brings the heat. We all know that we could use some of that here in the Windy City, especially since the cold weather is upon us. His debut album "North" and recent remixes of Aaliyah, Drake and The Weeknd have cemented his talent in solidifying a new sound. So, warm up with him and your date tonight at 9 p.m. at Double Door, 1572 N. Milwaukee Ave. The Seattle-born, Michigan-based singer is performing alongside Gravez, Savon and Saher.
