Weekend What-To-Do: Derby, Blackhawks, D-Backs Protest
Wrigley Field Protests
The Arizona Diamondbacks are in town all weekend long and opponents of the newly passed (and horrendous) Arizona Senate bill 1070 are protesting the Diamondback (and their GOP owner, though he's actually against 1070) all weekend. It's about time sports got back to being about more than just amusing ourselves.
Derby Day
Bust out the fedoras, mint sprigs, bourbon and wagerin' money! The Kentucky Derby is tomorrow on NBC and to celebrate it, Arlington Park is hosting the grand opening of its new state-of-the-art viewing lounge and sports bar: "Longshots" (betting pun!) Arlington Park's slick new watering hole has a host of standard pub grub and yes, that delicious and (so simple) Kentucky concoction, the mint julep will be served all day. Additionally, 25 flat-screens and an outdoor patio so you can keep on eye the Derby and the parlays your winning inside Arlington. Bring your own Kentucky Colonel!
Blackhawks vs Canucks
No strangers, these two teams. Expect offense, brutal hits, aggression and plenty of Rageahol with these two teams lining up for what most pundits expect to be a seven game slugfest. It all starts tomorrow at the United Center. Red Light District has a great preview: here.
Have a great weekend!
