SXSW Tour Diary 2008, #5

A Saturday morning update from The Debauchers:

9:55am
Subject: our tour highlights so far...

* 24 hours, 1400 miles, 3 shows, no sleep.

* An amazingly drunk woman at PK's in Carbondale walks up to our drummer, Brian, and starts making out with him.

* An amazingly sober woman at a truck stop in Arizona, walks up to Brian and kisses him.

* Realizing, courtesy of the Arkansas State Police, that not all cops are dicks. Once you're outside of Chicago, anyway.

* Taking a shower at the Marriott. One of the highlights of my life, really.

* Playing one of the best sets of our lives at a nearly empty salsa bar on Austin's East Side.

* The tequila shots the bartender bought us while we were playing.

We play three more shows today -- at the Yarddog Gallery with the Sadies, Jon Langford and a bunch of other Chicago folks, and then back to the East Side.
