Lampo Presents Keith Fullerton Whitman Sailing on Sine Waves 03/10
Chicago non-profit art collective Lampo opened up free RSVPs for a performance by Kranky recording artist and synth wizard Keith Fullerton Whitman on March 10th at the Graham Foundation's Madlener House. He will be performing the U.S. premier of "Rhythms Naturels" followed by a live modular synth improvisation. Keith performed multiple sets of modular synth dungeons and guitar dragons as part of the 2010 Neon Marshmallow Festival.
Keith Fullerton Whitman burst onto the US scene during the last gasps of the 1990s under his aggressive IDM breakbeat pseudonym Hrvatski. He was part of the first US DIY laptop tour with Kid606, Cex, and Matmos. Modern minimal composers, ambient music, musique concrete, drone, and krautrock have influenced the majority of his musical output since 2000. In 2002 he joined liked minded artists Tim Hecker and Stars of the Lid as part of the lineup at Karanky with the release of his guitar and sine wave dreamscape Playthroughs.
Lampo presents Keith Fullerton Whitman performing Saturday, March 10at at The Graham Foundation's Madlener House. Admission is free with RSVP. Showtime is 8pm. The Graham Foundation Madlener House is located at 4 West Burton Place. A calendar of upcoming Lamp events is on their website.
