Spring Awakening Music Festival Finalizes Lineup
Had enough festival news for the day yet? Well, if you're head's not spinning (and your wallet's not empty), here's some more.
The second annual Spring Awakening Festival (held at Soldier Field) has churned out its last wave of artists, completing what was already an impressive lineup.
As for the third headliner, Moby will be returning for his second year at the fest. This is great news considering Moby's DJ set was one of the most buzzed about sets last June but his late evening set time clashed with several of the festival's other high billed acts. This year, he'll be uninterrupted.
Personally, I'm most excited to hear that Nero has joined the lineup. They played a set at Lollapalooza last year, but their tracks dominated the local festival scene all summer. It was hard to go more than a couple hours without hearing "Crush On You" or "Must Be The Feeling" mixed into a DJ's set at Wavefront, Spring Awakening or North Coast.
Other "final wave" inclusions are electronic music vets the Crystal Method, one of my festival favorites Auto Body, Ooah (of the Glitch Mob) and MartyParty's new duo PANTyRAiD, John Dahlback, Showtek as well as local acts Orchard Lounge and LoBounce.
