Rock Riffs and Indie Moods: Brad Sawicki and Bryan Kveton at Stars Align
Photo: Carolina Mariana Rodriguez
Bryan Kveton (Sunjacket) and Brad Sawicki (Ancient Friends) concocted a simple but potent mix of indie atmosphere and rock riffs at this month's Stars Align.
Kveton and Sawicki traded off lead roles while playing stripped-down versions of their songs. Sawicki said they spent a lot of time putting the session together, and the effort really showed. Songs like Heart of Cold and Alligator blended vocal harmonies, guitars, and even basic beats from an iPhone to maximum effect.
A dance break provided by Robyn's Dancing on My Own kept things moving, and a cover of Beck's Debra ended the night on a happy note.
If you didn't make it out this month you can check out some video highlights below, and be sure to join us the next time the Stars Align.
