Up The Punks! Polak Family Benefit Show w/ Plan of Attack & Weekend Nachos 11/19
Dan Polak has been a fixture of the Chicago punk scene for years. You can count on seeing him at every show smiling and singing along. He's known on the other side of the performance divide for his work in hardcore bands Left Hand Path and Like Rats/Undo Tomorrow. Over the years the Chicago hardcore scene has rallied around Dan as a pillar of positivity. Unfortunately Dan's been having a really bad 2011.
Last December Dan's mother passed away and just recently his father joined her. Dan is now the sole caretaker of his four siblings. In an effort to help Dan the Chicago punks banded together and are throwing a benefit show with a lineup of Chicago fiercest hardcore bands.
The bill for the Polak family benefit is a diverse set of hardcore bands. Gothic punk ghouls Plan of Attack are reuniting for their first show in five years. The Relapse Records signed black humor grind punks Weekend Nachos are playing their first hometown show after a round of european touring. Anti-future punk dystopian lovers Cyborg shares members with Weekend Nachos and Blacklisted. Rounding out the bill is Spine another band sharing members with Weekend Nachos playing their first show.
Plan of Attack, Weekend Nachos, Cyborg, and Spine perform at the Viaduct Theatre on Saturday Nov 19th. 10:30PM. 17+ $10+. The Viaduct is located at 3111 N Western Ave. Dan is accepting Paypal donations at Dannypolak83@gmail.com.
