Preview: Lil Bibby at Bottom Lounge Nov. 13

lil-bibby.jpg

Its got to be an exciting time for Lil Bibby. Based off the strength of his debut mixtape Free Crack, the local rapper has found himself in the spotlight, attracting the attention of Drake and earning a spot on XXL's annual list of buzzworthy and interesting rappers.

These last several months have seen Lil Bibby working tirelessly to become a stronger rapper. Hes built a successful partnership with Juicy J and they've collaborated on a series of songs together culminating in the all star posse cut, "Low," featuring Nicki Minaj and zeitgeist rapper Young Thug in addition to Lil Bibby and Juicy J in which Bibby holds his own and demonstrates that he is ready for the next level.

A few weeks after the release of "Low," Bibby released his latest mixtape Free Crack 2. Featuring production from heavy hitters such as Bangladesh, who is probably best known for producing Lil Wayne's "A Milli," and featuring blockbuster rappers such as Wiz Khalifa as well as fellow XXL Freshman Kevin Gates, Free Crack 2 sounds like a larger album. The beats sound fuller and Bibby sounds increasingly confident with each appearance as he looks towards the future and whatever prizes it may hold. Lil Bibby seems to be having an exciting time, and at the moment there seems to be no end in sight.

Lil Bibby - We Are Strong (featuring Kevin Gates)

Lil Bibby performs this Thursday night, November 13th, at Bottom Lounge (1375 W Lake Street.) This is a 17+ show and doors are at 8 with things getting started around 9. Alex Wiley and Mic Terror both open while Ty Dolla Sign headlines. If you're into it, tickets are $20 and can be grabbed here.
