Supreme Cuts Provide Your Kissing Jams For Tonight @ The Smart Bar 2/23

IMG_3194-supcuts-3-300DPI3.jpg

Supreme Cuts are a duo of electronic producers from Chicago making cavernous sensual jams peppered with amorphous soul samples they describe as Future RnB. Tonight Slack Kevorkian and Mike Perry will be performing a set of powerful make-out scented ambience at the Smart Bar. Supreme Cuts will tease out unheard tracks from their debut album Whispers In The Dark (forthcoming on Dovecote).

Earlier today Supreme Cuts released a new non-album cut Silkk and it's a burner. The new track opens with a classic clacking dubstep pattern as floating voices sing in delight. Synthetic strings swell as hand claps and a slithering bassline form a platform for the unknown female narrator as she promises to read us a letter. Our feet are teased with a shuffling rhythm that drops out to reveal small pocked of calm. Deep into the three minute mark the sweaty percussion drops away to reveal a warm center. The narrator follows through on her promise to read us her love letter just in time for the track to swell once more. The seemingly unconnected realms of ambience and bouncing off the walls energetic drums connect in compelling ways to reveal dense rewarding wall banger.

Supreme Cuts will be performing a live tonight at the Smart Bar. Joining them will be DJ sets by Nguzunguzu, Bizzies, Sparkletone, and Jake Guidry. Doors are at 10pm and tickets are $5. The Smart Bar is located under the Metro at 3730 N Clark Street.
