Additional Details

This surprisingly modern building is located on the back lot of a S. Bishop St. building. It is the only residence facing this block of 65th.

In January 27, 2009, a permit was issued for upgrading the entire building's electrical system, but it was entered into foreclosure proceedings by the end of the year. No 311 calls have been made about the building, but a water termination notice is attached to the door.

About the series

Over the course of 2012 David Schalliol produced a photographic portrait of 100 of the hundreds of buildings threatened with demolition in the city of Chicago. Nearly all of the buildings have since been demolished. Visit the background information section for more information about the project, including definitions and links to other building resources.

The series is supported by a generous grant from the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
