Chicago Historic Resources Survey: Orange [?]
Year: 1893
Architect: Unlisted
Owner: Michael Barrett
Permit Description: Demolition of a 1-1/2 story brick cottage.
Status: Under review (Request received 3/6/12)
According to real estate listings, this Bucktown cottage is a $449,000 "teardown ... old bungalow," a point emphasized by intentionally unflattering photographs. If demolished, it will join many others on the block that have made way for much larger residences.
This building has received no 311 calls.
Over the course of 2012 David Schalliol produced a photographic portrait of 100 of the hundreds of buildings threatened with demolition in the city of Chicago. Nearly all of the buildings have since been demolished. Visit the background information section for more information about the project, including definitions and links to other building resources.
The series is supported by a generous grant from the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation.
